This is it :(
Jus found out today that the insurance company is going to total out the car. I haven't even had it for a year yet. I prolly won't be on this forum anymore. I'm hoping to pull the strings on a SC400 within the next couple months. But for now, it's goodbye

I know a few people that bought their car back from the insurance company after it was totaled, and they got them really cheap. There is a famous anthracite Supra in Houston that very few people know was totaled back in the day.... but was rebuilt as one of the baddest Supras around.
I'm not familiar with your car, but if it was heavily modified, try to buy it back and you might be able to get it really cheap and be able to salvage your aftermarket parts to put on your new car. (you are getting paid for the totaled car, correct? full coverage?)

Actually happened to me in April Minor damage (fender, bumper, headlight, foglight, and everything connecting the wheel was replaced as wel as upgraded rims.) however no frame damage or anything serious was damaged and my car was totaled because of age. Insurance just paid me out. Bought it back for 1300 invested 2500 and bought all kinds of parts and stuff and still in the process of putting together. Bought my car cpo 2nd owner will very few miles a long long time ago. only have 135k now and engine is flawless. Depending on damage you substained, it might be worth it to retain. Best of luck...

I would take the check and buy back the old one.
Up here we have to fight and tell the insurance their first offer isn't enough to get fair money. usually you can drive them up to 1.5 times the amount of book value.
