Help with door actuator cable
I've read though all the DIY's on here but didn't see this issue addressed:
Just replaced the actuator motor on the front passenger side, reinstalled everything and when locking/unlocking the door, the cable that attaches to the interior lock button next to the pull lever only moves about 1/4" in and out. This is not enough for the door to lock/unlock as it should.
When the door is shut, it will not unlock without the key physically turned in the lock.
My guess is that the entire actuator assembly needs replaced ($275 from sewell) which I hoped not to do.
Anyone have this issue or know how to possibly fix it?

I had this issue with my rear passenger door. Was doing the same thing, plus the door/map lights weren't working either.
I just replaced the whole assembly, last weekend in fact. Wish I hadn't have waited so long to replace it.

Thanks Blanco...when you say assembly do you mean the actuator motor case along with the door mechanism that has all the cables attached to it? If so, where did you buy the whole assembly? Looks like it might be a dealer part only.

Yes. The whole enchilada. Bought it from Sewell. It was the cheapest place I could find it.

Thanks guys, I pulled apart the assembly one more time and found one of the plastic arms off of the actuator not installed correctly into the assembly. Fixed it and it works perfectly now.
Those who are replacing just the motor like I did, pay close attention to how the actuator fits back on the the lock mechanism.
