Default PCV Question

While changing my spark plugs, I noticed the PCV valve feels loose. I didn't investigate it much at the time, but was wondering if it's suppose to be like that. My gut tells me no, but figured I'd pop the question as searching around didn't produce any results.

the valve itself is a solid piece of metal, so it can't be "loose".

What may be loose is the pcv grommet which is just rubber. Likely it is fine, but if you want, change out both, they are not expensive.
