You shouldn't be going to Lexus to have them stretch your tires or do anything tire related

There are shops around here that will mount stretched tires for u for pretty cheap

I didn't get my tires put on at the dealership. I just work there and I get discounts on service so I have them do work when I need it because I know most of the mechanics and trust them to do most things I don't want to do myself. There is only one shop here in Springfield that has the equipment to do stretches on tires and that's who I have been using for that. Most of the people that get wheels that work at the dealership use that specialty shop because they're really great to work with and will stand behind their work and they're about a 3 minute drive from the dealership ha. Got my TRD centercaps on today and my trunk led tails will be going on tonight. Now to find some time in my crazy work schedule for another car wash and photo shoot! The drought is getting so bad here that they are limiting certain services from our car wash at the dealership. The nice thing about getting work done from Lexus is that they completely detail my car when they're done. After my alignment they couldn't because they have been asked to do everything they can to conserve water

They are saying that I need new rear tie rods because they are seized and won't allow a proper alignment. They are also saying that I need a new front lower control arm. Does anyone know of any good aftermarket parts that i can replace these with? Everything before my discount will be $975 if I do that through them... I think I may just replace the parts myself and then bring it back for another alignment.

I've been driving like a geriatric because I got a flat on day one because of inadequate tire pressure. My question is for all who drive daily on stretched tires; how often are you on the highway and how hard to you drive in general? I'm just afraid of popping one of the tires off the bead from driving too hard. My wife even commented on my super careful driving yesterday "are you stopping...?" "No, there's just a lip between those two slabs of pavement..." Am I overreacting?
God bless you! I live in new york on the border of long island and queens and I drive in brooklyn all the time. Theres no way on gods green earth im running that low a tire size on such wide rims. I had a 350z with 245/30 20 tires on a 20x8.5 rim up front and a 275/30 20 tire on a 20x10 in the rear and I was breaking sidewalls left and right and the stretch was pretty mild if any. I immediately went up to 245/35 up front and 275/35 in the rear, problem solved, but I lost the stretch completely.

First 245/30 on 20X8.5 and 275/30 on a 20X10 is a proper fat setup not stretch.
Second changing from 30 to 35 does change the height of the tire but not the width.

The OP asked about stretched tires being a problem not the fact of running low profile tires. 245/35R20 in the front on our GS is tall and will rub if lowered. 245/30R20 would be a better choice.

Rear tie rods?

I assume your talking about toe links in the rear. Check out Figs, tons of suspension part upgrades

that was my point. so if I was blowing sidewalls on a "proper fat tire setup" as you call it (there was nothing fat about my tires whatsoever) then I can't even imagine driving on that setup the OP is running on a much larger vehicle without a world of problems.

I've been staying away from the highway if I can just because my alignment is so bad. The ride gets pretty bouncy as my speed increases. Gotta get some new toe links soon and a new front lower control arm...

Rode on your exact same specs, 9.5 225/35/19 and 10.5 245/35/19 for a year. At first it was little scary when you feel like hitting anything might pop a wheel. However for a whole year I had 0 problems.

I actually switched to 18's and this morning mounted a 215/40/18 on a 9.5, I hope I have the same luck. Shop used what looked like a leaf blowers tank filled with high pressure air to pop it on.

Good to know. Just bought a little pocket tire pressure gauge key chain from my parts department that goes out 2 decimal places and automatically readjusts to zero after every use. Most awesome find ever ha.
