Default Another New Guy

Hey! name is Justin i live right outside Spokane Washington and have been in the nissan/infiniti scene for well over 8 years and this year im deciding to switch it up. im driving my 99 infiniti g20t with an sr20ve swap but its not enough so my thoughts are to build a 98+ gs300/400 and install a 2jz-gte and a mild vip look! but my questions are-

- is there any difference between the years of 98-04 as far as work needing to be done for a swap? -also is it just as easy to swap a 2jz in a gs400 as it is a 300?

sorry for the noob questions

i think a swap between a gs300 and a gs400 should be slightly diff my friend. i personally do not know because i havent done that. but the gs300 is 6 cylinders inline and the gs400 is a v8. i hav both. a 2001 gs300 and a 2001 gs430 and the engines are way diff. motor mounts are in diff locations. everything is ifferent. good luck with you task tho. i wish ou the best my friend. and welcome to CL!

I think the 300 will be easier than the 400 too.

Haven't done it, but I have read that swapping it into a 300 would definitely be easier.

Yup use the 300. Find a clean shell to do the swap!

That looks really clean. I like the interior color. Also, why not go na-t? It can be done.

i figured it would eliminate the possibilities of problems if i went factory boost instead of na+t due to higher compression and boost the tune usually needs to be spot on
