Question ls400 shifter

Question,

Can you use the shifter of a LS on a GS. I got a wood/leather from an LS and it skrews in too low. So u cannot shift. I wonder if u can take apart the inside of mine GS shifter, leather only, and put it on the LS shifter. I read it somewhere it can be done but I can't remeber where I saw that info

Thanks

Does it even screw in?? Before my parents traded in their LS, I tried to switch shifters with them and noticed that they are two different sizes. The diameter of the threads where much larger then that of the GS shifter. If you figure it out, let me know.

It does skrew in. But the problem is that, at least on the one I have, the part that skrews on, is too deep. So it will sit so low that you cannot shift. I have both on my desk and I wish I can take the inside of the shifter out and insert it in the LS400 shifter. Oooohh weelll. Need to look for a wood/leather GS400 shifter
