Post Timing Belt Database (Pics & Info)

since our cars are getting older and there always seems to be questions about the timing belt (i.e. when to change the tb out, or if you can wait a bit longer) i figured it would be good to have a thread for all members to consolidate their tb experiences, and pics of the belt if available.

so i'll start...

'01 GS430 @ 90.5k miles, TB changed out on Aug 27, 2012

belt still looked new with very slight fraying on one edge of the belt...

here is everything that was changed.

How long to change? My friend who works at a Lexus dealer (first Lexus tech in the state), said if he hustles, he can do in 45 min, but I think he said book time is 90 min. I was looking at an Audi A8 (D2) with the 4.2L V8 and it is a 12 hour job to change the rubber band!

depends on your skill level but it takes some time doing the change... mainly getting that crank bolt out is the hardest part.
