Default Rear main seal and Lower control arm bushings

2001 model with ~98Kmi with no prior problems. Body in good shape. Oil drops found on inspection at RMS location, no oil usage but some driveway spots. Should it be repaired now for $1200 quote? Bushings L&R lower arm show deep fissures in rubber boots but not spit through, no apparent movement on forcing wheels when on rack, no excessive tire wear or alignment issues. Assume housing rubber will eventually split open then allow dirt, moisture to cause bushings to fail, possibly affecting other front end components - should they be replaced now for $1500? Want to keep car another 5-7 years but only drive ~10mi/day usually, rarely medium trips <250mi. Inspected problems myself with dealer master technician.

Might want to look for a good independent shop. I was quoted $550 for the rms when I was in southern California by a good shop I would get work done at. They specialized in Lexus. We can't spend your money for you. You should be able to get these things repaired in a quality manner for much less. You need to search.

Those estimates sound WAY high. I'd shop around. And yes I'd get both items fixed, especially since you plan on keeping the car a while. Which control arms EXACTLY are you referring to?

The longer you wait to fix these things, the more expensive they can cost to repair.
