Default Something is loose in brake / caliper

What up all.. So for the past two weeks I have had a clank / clunk noise when going over uneven payment and cracks in the road. Not extreme (bottom out noise) but load to enough to drive me nuts... I am positive that it is in the brake caliper. It sounds like one of pads is clanking around in there? I know what you are going to say, check the LBJ and UBJ.. I have replaced lower and upper ball joints and arms. Replaced lower control arm, replaced swaybar bushings, etc... Positive it is in this brake. I purchased a refurb caliper unit back in May (it looked new)... Has anyone had a similar issue. I am getting ready to tear into it but wanted some ideas of what to hunt for .. ie, sliding pins or clips need replaced? Caliper not actuating? Thanks for the help! Also, on passenger side. 98 GS300

Also, the noise will go away if I hit the brakes to stop...

Go to the dealer and get what Lexus calls a "Fitting Kit". It's around $20-$30 or so.
Lexus gave this wonderful machine a very poor braking system. The pads that seat in the calipers don't seat perfectly. They never did. So Lexus tried to correct this issue by supplying a Fit Kit. They're little clips that go on top and bottom of the pads and sits within the caliper. Many threads on this but this is likely your problem

I'm guessing you have the same noise that I had here:

and
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-question.html

I fixed that noise with part #47743C (4774330050: SPRING, ANTI-SQUEAL FOR REAR DISC BRAKE , NO.2)

I got it from Sewell.

I hope this helps you out.

Check caliper bracket bolts make sure there tight. I had a bolt missing and made a clunk noise.

Hey everyone.. Problem fixed.. For some reason the two bolts that hold the caliper bracket (not caliper) were loose. I tightened those up and bingo... It rolls great. It still has a minor sound from pad movement at very slow speed when turning wheel while pressing brake but nothing at all noticeble.. Thanks for the tips and the fitting kit sounds like a great idea to get...
