Default Need help! My 99 gs4 is not starting! Code p1354

Hi people! My car is not starting and can't figure out what its is.
I bought this car last nite from some guy and when i checked the engine oil, it was kinda low and in needed of an oil change, so the guy added some 20-50 oil less then a quart. I drove it home on the freeway and it drove smooth. I got home and parked the car went to bed. This morning i went to the car so i could give it a oil change with some mobil one synthetic. Tried starting the car and it just cranks over but does not start. It seems like there is no fuel. just out of curiosity, I decided to check with my generic obd2 scanner to see if there is some codes or anything. The scanner got a code and it was P1354 which i found out it's something to do with vvt system malfuction bank1.
The funny thing is that i did not have any check engine lights when i was driveing the car and when i parked it. this morning even tho the car did not start, I ended up giving this car a oil change anyways to take out the old oil with some new mobil1. My question is that can this code make the car not start? Or maybe the dirty old oil and the less then a quart of 20-50 had to to do something with my car not starting? I really need to get this car moving so i could get to work, so please help!!!

Why would yo buy a car from somebody that obviously didn't care enough about it to make sure the oil levels were even right? Good luck with the fix and hope the rest of the car was at least taken care of

Everything is fixed. It was not the code that did not make the car start. It was something to do with the key.
