So it looks like since I was last in here, the original photos on the first page have been re uploaded directly into here as attachments bypassing photobucket completely which is awesome! Saves me a bit of time, either way this is how i ended up doing mine, made an external loom out of a CAT5 ethernet cable and some nice plugs out of old photocopiers. What it mean was I was able to mount the jack in my centre console next to the secondary cigarette light socket, neat and out of site just the way it should be, sound quality is great! Took a week in the end for me doing it after work each night perfecting it

Wow, very nice! So clean, looks like it could've come that way from the factory. Props man.

The GS and RX (2006-2012) radios are quite different but using the same concept to override the tape deck system, I found this solution: http://madsock.co.za/hack-your-lexus...x-audio-input/

I hope it can help someone else.

This method should work on your car model too and it doesn't include any cutting. It's totally reversable: http://madsock.co.za/hack-your-lexus...x-audio-input/

Have a Nakamichi radio, and sure wouldn't mind playing with this. We're using a tape-adapter to plug in a phone, and the adapter wire acts as an antenna, and creates huge interference/noise on the radio speakers, even with the volume turned all the way down. We could live with a wire, and maybe even adapt a bluetooth adapter, yet getting rid of the data-radio noise on the volume-down speakers sure would be nice.

Anyway, we have (2) complete Nakimichi radios... we can send pics to the thread, or send you the upper/lower boards, if you have time to analyze the boards.

Hi there. The Madsock link is dead. Could you share how the solution worked?

I implemented this solution as seen in post #2 on this page: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-aux-port.html

Works like a charm. Hardest part was locating a cassette tape.
