Remember the E55 is 5.5L.

Hey
They could do it is they want but it prob won't be cost effective but Ferrari's F360 Modena has a 4L 400HP V8.
Ok how about this a 5L 400HP N/A and the performance with a a 5.3L Supercharged 500-550HP GS530.
i don't think that would be unreasonable.

Hey dude,
I think 500-550 HP with AWD drive system would make very usable power for any car especially a GS. You have to think the newer Vipers run 0-60MPH in the high 3's and thats with a Professional Driver controlling alot of Wheel Spin..
Personally, I have driven a Viper RT-10 and A 99 GTS and it is very hard to control the car and though its a freakin 'beast' its really hard to get the rated times magazines posts..
So A car well balance and tuned and especially maybe an AWD 550 HP GS would be enough.. Just food for thought..

Anyway...My vote would be for a nice 6-cylinder with a couple of big-*** turbos...

Hey
Toyota has more money than BMW and Benz, they are the 3rd largest auto maker in the world and are investing 1 billion dollars over 3 years (333 million dollars a year! for those you who can't do the math) into the F1 programme and they run numerous engine programs for import drag racing and the new Daytona 24Hr engine (well TRD runs them but they are run by Toyota).
And Toyota owns Lexus, Daihatsu (spelling?) and i believe something else. So don't tell me they have less money than BMW and Benz, MB owns Chrysler but they aren't doing so well.
While other manufacturers are closing down plants Toyota is OPENING more plants to produce more cars!
Toyota are doing very well.
And toyota will not produce 5 engines for 1 product line, it is not cost effective. They will produce 2 engines IE GS500 and GS530S (Supercharged).

The M5 has a 5L NA engine good for 400HP. At that kind of output you begin to run into some reliability issues because the engine is tuned for performance.
A formula-1 engine is good for about 1000HP (at between 10,000 and 15,000 rpms! ), but it doesn't last more than 1000 miles! Remember there is a trade-off here.
All this talk about huge horsepower for a GS when most people on here wouldn't pay for one anyway.

Finally , as far as price goes. THIS IS NOT intended to be a replacement for the GS400/430. This should and will be, if produced, a limited production car that will carry a higher price tag...hence, not for everyone. This should NEVER be a reason for it not to be produced.
