Sam, I think your sunroof not closing all the way is the problem as mine closes completely without having to press the button again.
I had the wind bar rattle also but I fixed that by putting felt where the plastic thing hits the bar. Problem solved the plastic loop, there are two of them

also OP just to let you know, the + sign right after the quote button will allow you to respond to alot of people in one post all at once.
Nothing is broken but it may be a little worn. I do not have any issues closing it. It closes one touch normal like it should all I said is that when you OPEN it with the one touch and it gets to the full OPEN position and then you hit the button towards the OPEN position it will move OPEN just a tiny bit more this tightens everything up and then it does not rattle in the OPEN position.

It's amazing to me how no one can clearly read a statement. Please read the first post carefully.

Decided to step outside and take a look. There's a plastic piece on the outside of the metal track that rattles when the sunroof is open, but doesn't after pressing the open button once more.

Also as Brian noted, please use this button in the future to reduce the clutter.

I did not know about that button. Thanks. So your sunroof rattles also? And when you hit the button open twice it does not?

My wind bar rattles occasionally at high speeds, which is what I thought you were experiencing. My sunroof only made noise in the same place that yours does after using a little bit of force. I was able to pinpoint it down to the plastic strip on the outside of the metal track. It did not make this noise once I pushed the open button a second time.

Mine only does it on certain type of bumps. I will look at that strip. Thanks. But just pushing the button a second time is easy enough

You can fix your wind bar rattle with a little felt like I said. Make sure the felt is thin or the wind bar will be too low and you will get wind flutter.

I just drove on an errand an my rattle is not the plastic piece, it sounda like its behind me. It only does it occasionally on certain types of bumpy roads.
