Looking to join the GS family
I'm confused, though.
It will either be the 2001-2005 GS300 SportDesign (those perforated seats*drool*) or of course the other option, GS430.
As far as I know, the perforated seats only come with the GS300 SportDesign, however, I've seen a GS430 being sold on Kijiji with perforated seats. I was also told the SportDesign has a darker walnut wood but I've seen 2 SportDesign models with regular brown wood with the perforated seats (not sure what suspension was used).
Another thing is, 2JZ vs 3UZ..
Which one do you think requires less work and is more bulletproof? I know these comparisons have been done a million times but I'd like to hear more updated answers now that these cars are around 10 years old. I know the gas efficiency is almost exactly the same but which one will last a lifetime? Is the v8's 80 or so more HP really worth it?
So, can anyone clear things up for me?

Depends on what your goals are. I believe all 03-05 430s came with perfed leather seats. I also thought that all SDs came with blackwood trim, regardless if you got the saddle leather, or black leather. Not sure.
Both motors are bulletproof. If you're not going to be doing any performance modding, I'd say go with a 400/430. IF you do plan moderate to major performance modding, get the SD, and boost it!
If you don't boost, Yes, I think the 80 extra hp is worth it, but you'll notice the 105 extra ft/lbs. more!!

blackwood or,
redwood
I have both (just trying to decide which one to keep)

id like to boost a 2jz but the smoothness of the UZ line of engines (older LS) is incredible and would probably save me money in the long run.

Good to know.
I love my 400, but if I could do it all over again, I'd just go with the GGP SD w/black interior, and drop in a 2jzgte. See JeffTsai's SD!!

SD was a limited run 300 with cosmetic changes (head lights, blackwood/silver trim, seat piping). Think SD was made only 02-03. GGP was exclusive SD color.

OP this is a hard choice. The 8 for power and SD just to be different since limited. Can't really go wrong with either.
