Default K&n fipk cai

Hi guys, I recently bought the K&N FIPK CAI and my only main concern is hydro locking. I have read in other forums that to really have the engine hydro lock, the filter has to be submerged under water. My question is would the oil on the filter reflect a couple drops or really small splashes? And is it necessary to buy a filter cover? i dont want to reduce the air flow by buying a cover.. I suppose the FIPK is considered a Short Ram if that is right? but anyways thanks for your help!

It would be nice to know what car you have..Either-way Please tell me when you say CAI you mean that you have an extension on your FIPK.. if yes where does it route?

Possible, but given some of the threads on this section, he could be talking about his corolla.

i guess its a short ram then? because it doesnt route around anywhere but on the left side of the engine
