Default Fog Light Problems...

Okay, well my passenger side Fog light assembly was stolen at my college today. I have a Lexus GS400 98. But, I don't know whether it is a HID or non HID fog lamp I should get to replace it. The fog lights shine a bright yellow and my car came with xenon headlights. So does it mean it is HID?

Also, anyone recommend a place where I can get a cheap fog lamp. Cheapest I found was $130.

Thanks!

as for the fog lights, it isn't HID, even though your headlights might be...BUT, I am pretty sure you had the YELLOW capsule for your fog lights...unless previous owner installed an aftermarket HID kit to your fogs...look at your other side, does it have a yellow capsule?

I have a 2000 GS400 Platinum edition and it did not come with yellow capsules. They are HID though.

i didnt realise there was an HID foglight? i thought it was only for the headlights....so foglights have factory HID ballast too? i doubt it. OP. I understand you're fogs are Toyota, I meant to say, maybe someone put in an after market HID kit...(ballast and bulb) like DDM tuning, etc.

More than likely someone else put HID's in your car's foglight..not from the factory.

and im pretty sure all GS400s came with yellow capped fog lights. did you purchase the vehicle new?

It was CPO and 2 year old with 14k miles. It was a corporate lease so I doubt they changed them out unless they were damaged I doubt they would have put HID's in either but you never know.
