i never use the key to open the trunk but i'm scared once i switch out the key hole all a sudden im going to need it hahaaha

anyway u can do a DIY on how to set it up?
I used exonic exr300, I did some research and found only a couple that fit in the key hole I can't remember the others though. It needs some modifications to make it fit right but nothing major.

I have it wired up to the stock Nav system, you have to use either the Navtool, Nav tv, or some kind of convertor. I almost did a DIY on the Nav tool but I fried it when I was installing it so I ended up picking up the Nav tv from a member on here and had my audio guy install it for me.

OP how do you like your rear camera in the keyhole. i have one there and i wish it was angled down a little or a wider angle so i could see the ground/cars/walls/trees behind me when backing up

what if you say... "my car didnt come with a 3rd brake light"

when you do the conversion from spoiler to non spoiler, there is no evidence of a 3rd brake light. the rear deck does not even have the mounting hole cut outs.

not saying it is right, but just sayin....

If you car is manufactured after a certain date (Which applies to almost 99% of the cars out there) It will be FACTORY equipped with a third brake light. Manufactures do not like to make cars specific state to state to meet their laws. They make cars to meet National requirements. In some cases its your choice to remove the equipment only if allowed by your state.

is this similar to not needing a passenger side side view mirror like back in the days?

What sucks is the previous owner (who picked it up from the dealership) decided to put the ugly whale spoiler on the gs as an option. I know this cause I have both the spoiler and the brake light

At Least if I take off the spoiler I still have the light for ca strict laws

NOW let me summarize Lali since that thing is 183 pages

"Federal law mandates that all vehicles have the third brake light outfitted within the car"

i dont have the time/effort/energy to prove that they must be working but they 100% must all have one....again i dunno if they have to be working in NY but it seems silly not to be, Irregardless they all must have one.....even if its not working. i still think if you get in a wreck and the center 3rd brake light isnt working, you will be at fault but who knows. i dunno why you would risk it since these are made to help people see your brake lights and all Gs's are prewired for this so just get one and plug it up
