Unhappy I miss you guys

Sup fellas?

Just popping in to say hello. After a long while I've finally gotten myself back into a car with an L on it, but couldn't buy a 2GS for snow and fuel concerns. I'm in a 2007 blk/blk ES350 now, and it's a really nice car, reminds me a lot of my old 01 GS300.

That said, the ES350 forum sucks. Nothing compared to the good ol 2GS forum.

That is all

don't I know it, hahaha. Not to mention I sold the GS with a set of D2 coils and a tanabe MT exhaust The GS I never really paid a ton of attention to, but I'd peg it around the 19mpg avg mark back when I was doing 80/20 city/hwy. The ES being lighter and FWD, not to mention transverse V6 over the wheels rather than I6, I'm averaging ~25.5mpg 70/30 hwy/city.

I'm tryin man! Not many guys trying to mod the damn things though they're the same as a camry. I think I've calmed my firearm buying itch though so maybe she'll see some goodies soon.

haha no it def is not! My GS was marginally more comfortable and rode a bit smoother. I wish I could get another 300 and finish the project I was going to do anyway (lo-boost NA-T, coils, etc.). maybe once I pay this thing down and get the student loans taken care of I'll boost an SC or something

would if I could. I searched for a cheapish GS430 for about 6 months before I settled on the ES. For reference, I came out of an 06 E500 4matic which was a great car in it's own right. The Lexus just seems to fit me better.

Welcome back behind the "Big L." Appreciate your concern about snow, I daily drive my GS400 in a solid 5-6 months of snow each year. It's frustrating, but just don't want to give it up. Enjoy the ES and grab a 2GS project as soon as possible.

yeah I went through one winter with my GS. I made it through everything, never got stuck (got caught in about a 10" snow storm at one point) but coming from an AWD e class I didn't want to deal with it.

A 2nd car is a long way away haha

^^Did you run snow tires at all during the winter? Considering that your in Rhode Island you guys get a decent amount of snow and I'd feel uneasy driving the GS w/o snow tires.

I agree with you about the ES350 section. Different type of car in terms of modding as oppose to the GS so it's a different atmosphere.

sorta...I had (albeit brand new) Fuzion HRi tires on it. I also had a good bit of stuff in the trunk to get some weight over the rear end. They had a pretty aggressive unidirectional tread that I know for a fact helped bite into the slushy stuff. Don't get me wrong, I had to get pretty damn creative a few times (made it up a hill sideways in 10" of snow by hammering it and countersteering) but it could have been much worse. My E500 made 10" of snow look like a rain puddle, so naturally I wasn't psyched to go back to RWD right before winter haha.

Agreed. There's a couple people in there that seem to have my mindset that might be afraid to let it out...I just started a pretty ambitious project log so hopefully I can be what some of you guys are to the 2GS forum, in the ES350 forum haha.

This is as far as I got with her...well...this and the D2 coils and Tanabe MT sitting in the garage...and the 98% completed NA-T kit sitting in my bedroom... though I did end up selling all the turbo stuff to a member on here (MTParker18 I think?)

I had L-tuned mufflers on it, 6000k HIDs, yellow halogens in fogs and highs, 20% tint that had to get ripped thanks to a mini-***** local cop, and the citri-strip mad VIP grill mod, yo hahaha

Locked myself in a garage with her for 8 hours, 2 straight days to get that tired old paint back to life.

I've been intermittently torturing myself looking for an SC here and there as they go for much cheaper around there. Main issue is trying to buy a house soon-ish and still paying off a buncha student loans.
