Default Exhaust Mid-Pipes?

I have had the Borla rear section exhaust for about 6 months now, and because it's only a rear section, I am wanting to make it just a bit louder. I was planning on buying the topspeed mid pipes with smaller resonators, from ebay. But topspeed no longer sells that product on ebay.

Does any one know of any other companies that offer a bolt on midpipe for our cars, with smaller resonators?

any feedback would be great! thanks!

you won't likely be able to find a bolt-in midpipe without paying for a full catback. Your best bet is either to remove your stock resonators and replace with pipe, or have a custom midpipe made up. It shouldn't be too expensive to do either, I personally would lean toward making a custom pipewith a bit larger diameter. If you're gonna do it, might as well do it right.

I was leaning towards doing something like this, I was thinking about buying some smaller magnaflow glass pack mufflers and replacing the resonators with them.

anyone done something like this?

I would not put glasspacks on a 400. I can pretty well guarantee it won't sound good. You can get magnaflow resonators of different lengths to help with that. Usually the smaller the resonator, the louder the exhaust but the bigger chance for drone, dependent upon mufflers of course.

I looked on magnaflow's website and I couldn't find any resonators. Which exhaust companies offer a "slim" resonator? Or would I be better off, like you said having custom wider straight pipes put in?

hmm...just looked too and didn't see anything. that's odd. Most exhaust shops should stock them, try summit racing or something like that.

Straight pipes rather than resonators will be louder but much more likely to drone on the highway. I'd recommend talking to your exhaust shop before you do anything.

Magnaflow makes very acceptable resonators! If you have the cash, get Borla XR-1s. They are large, but their tone is AMAZING! By far the best exhaust I have put on my LS1 T/A. I don't have much experience with different exhaust on the GS400, but with the Borla rear section, I would just pick up a cheap pair of the Magnaflow resonators (just to eliminate drone, they don't muffle a whole lot) and see how you like that. Magnaflow does sell a very nice x-pipe if you're ready to do true dual. Their x-pipe is about the same as Flowmasters in terms of power (minimal) and sound. Since you're in there, I'd suggest just doing true dual. Hope this helps you some!

EDIT: I said Magnaflow, I meant DynoMax. They are cheap, but they work perfect. I've heard this run on just about everything. It really just stifles drone. Here is the link http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?muffler=racebullet

I will check out the dynomax resonators, Were you suggesting the XR1's for resonator use?
