Help me spend $4000 on my 02 GS300

I totally agree with this dude!
No offence OP but you sound completely clueless. You want HID's but if you have a SD your car should come factory equipped with HID's. You say you want the car to be more quiet, thinking of aggind sound deadening but you want an exhaust? Ummmm isn't that just defeating the whole purpose of the later? You say you already enjoy the car the way it is. My best advice to you is to keep it that way.

TRD Sways
BC Coilovers
17" OEM Wheels
Moog LBJ
Moog Outer Tie Rod
New Steering Rack Bushings
All of this will help you tighten steering and reduce body roll while keeping an OEM feel overall. Even after doing these things you have about 2,250 to play with. With that I'd get a Tanabe exhaust and a M45/LS460/LS430 retro. Put the rest in your bank account.

As far as your comments, my Lexus does not have HID even though it is a SD. My other car and my wife's car do have HID's and I love them.
From reading this forum and elsewhere, it seems that the only way to get a bit of a horsepower goose is to improve engine breathing. However I do like a quiet car. I'm aware that these two things contradict. Since the car still has OEM exhaust at 10 years, it will probably need a new exhaust soon. So I'm looking for suggestions that will help power, but not be much louder. If nothing like that exists that's good to know.
Thanks for your advice to keep the car OEM. I'll mix that thought in with the other advice and hopefully make some good decisions.

No, it has halogen in a pitted hazy housing. Not great light. By real retrofit, I assume you mean something like these projector headlights from zenondepot: http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Angel-Eye-...neBy_1434=6267

Real retrofit, then bring up angel eyes? Cringe!
Retrofitting as in taking the projectors out of newer model cars (Such as and not limited to, LS430 projectors, Q45 F50 projectors) and fitting them into your housing. POS angel eyes are just horrible. Perhaps its a downgrade.

Here's a head start! You don't want to be stranded on the road with jacked up fenders do you?
left outer tie end (just need right side): https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2ge...r-tie-rod.html
oem lbj: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2ge...ll-joints.html
As the other guys have said maintenance first!

Get wheels and coilovers. Upgrading all the interior lights with LED is a cheap a nice route too. maybe some window tint. An HID kit would look good and brighten things up without the cost of a retro fit
