how many of us have to make a few mods on our cars since winter is almost here.? what do each of us do to our cars.

me for example: I change out my tires to factory wheels an winter tires...

I just ordered some snow tires for my stockies as well. Firestone winterforce.

I've never tried this hope someone's has feed back .... has anyone put the winter chains on your tires are they helpful and safe ...??

dont think that chains are legal for everyday driving
i know that in mountains in snow conditions its mandatory sometimes but in city not sure

Chains are usually a bit of overkill. Living in Buffalo, i have never seen someone who has needed chains, even when i go out to ski country weekly. A good set of snow tires is usually enough.

i find the 430 is horrible in snow. too much low end torque. but other than that, handles fine, so long as there isnt more than 4inches of snow.

Nokian Nordman 4 on 17's this year. I ran Yokohama IG-20's last year and did just fine on my daily 25 mile commute.

Raised my suspension an inch in the front and 1 1/4 in the rear and put my 17's with winter tires.. Hopefully this will work.. But after I grab up a rx in the next couple of weeks I'll have it in the garage unless I really need to use it...

i love how winter mode for most vw guys if a ski rack and snow tires, but winter mode for most bmw, mercedes, and lexus guys is a nice bmw mercedes or lexus suv haha
