Hi guys, I'm the new proud owner of a 1999 GS 400 with 188K on the clock for $5,100 dollars. Carfax showed two owners the first had it for 7 years and the second for 5 years, all maintenance records from Park Place Lexus including the ones below,
[10/06/2007 - 157,354 REPLACE TIMING BELT-V-8 ENGINE
03/16/2004 - 90,000 MILE SERVICE WITH TIMING BELT
03/01/2003 - 60,000 MILE SERVICE OTH
The car handles like a dream and I am very happy with the purchase and thought I shared with you all to get your opinions and suggestions.
I love this forum!!

Congrats and welcome to CL.
Car looks good, doesn't look like it was abused,as long as you do the right maintenance,it will last you a long time.
You should look into changing your lower ball joints asap, very dangerous if those fail on you while driving and there's gonna be a hefty bill.
Whats your plans for modding?

Beautiful car, looks in great shape for the miles. +1 on the ball-joints, just get them done, a lot guys here say go with Moog. I can't believe how cheap used Lexus are in US, I paid $16K CDN for my 2000 GS400 three years ago, but the way it drives and the way it looks, I still think it was good value.
