I agree with Rominl. I was going to get a 99 GS 400 but I got a 2000 GS 300 for now! I did not want the higher Insurance cost and thought that a GS 300 was fine but I drove a GS 400 after and I am in the market for one. I also think that a used resale value of a GS400 is way better too!

Where in the world do some of you have your insureance policies with?!?!?! I have a GS 300 and I am paying 580.00/6 months. I guess becuase I am 24 my policy is so high! DAMN!!! I guess that Cyclemax, and copout221 are so low becuase they are around 90 years old!! HE HE!!!

Good Choice, go with the 430.

I remember reading the GS400 ranked in third in insurance theft premiums behind only the Acura Integra and Corvette.

I'm 16, insurance on my '95 ES is $650/ 6 months, and to save $$ I AM ONLY LISTED AS A SECONDARY, OCCASIONAL driver, (not including parent's cars--i drive them even though i'm not insured once in a while). I wonder what it would be on a GS4???!?!?!? Working 8 hour days in the summer usually covers the insurance, gas on ES, I'd prolly need to work 24hr days to cover that in a GS

LOL. Easy there, I'm only in my 30's. I've got a great driving record, plus my insurance co gives discounts for low mileage, not using it to commute to work, keeping it in a garage, automatic payroll deduction, long-term employee, good credit history. I'm not kidding you, I work them for everything. How the heyll else could I afford this car?

I've paid my dues to the insurance pool as a young man, though. Oh yeah.

Around here, your insurance heavily depends on what city you live in too. My g/f pays nearly twice what I pay for a 98 VW Golf in Providence RI. Reason? Higher theft and accident rate in that city. Doesn't help that I-95 runs thru it and I believe all accidents that happen within Prov get tagged to the city, even if it's just hiway passers-thru.

I'm in a small city on an island (bridge accessible), but there's no highway and plus, most of the roads are slow paced and calm (except when you New Yorkers arrive in the summer months )

No, not 90. I am 29 and I have my house and my SUV insured with Lib Mutual. Also, I have an awsome driving record since I am a cop, the GS only goes ONE mile to work each day, I have been with Lib Mutual for ten years, college grad discount, car is garaged, I live in the burbs, etc. I still think I will go with a GS4 when the new style is out in a few years. Until then I will be content with what I have.

Default You guys have me stoked!

I'm new to the world of the Lexus GS. I have a 2000 'vette that is coming off lease December 24. I drove a new GS300, but it didn't cut it for me. So I drove and ordered a new GS430 and fell in love with the extra power. It was tuff decision to pay the extra to get the 430 but after reading this thread I feel like I made the right decision. Now you guys have me wanting to put a aero package. upgraded shocks and bigger wheels. BUT IT'S A LEASE. Even if I don't do the upgrades I can at least "drive it like I stole it"
I'll officially be in the GS club when I pick up my Black GS430 with tan interior on December 14.

I'm still stoked.
