Aftermarket Sub with hi and lo adapter on nakamichi?
Hi all CL members
I know this topic has been discussed before but maybe some members out there might do something extradinary.
Well, has anyone adds subwoofer and amp to their nakamichi system and keep the oem head unit?
I do know that in order to keep everything stock and add aftermarket sub and amp u must use the hi and lo adapter.
Does any member knows where do we supposed to connect the hi and lo connector to?
I think we supposed to connect it to the speaker wires but I'm not so sure wether front or rear speaker?
Do we splice the speaker wires or cut it off?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Exactly! Splice into the wires that use to connect to the sub in the rear. I learned my lesson, do not buy a cheap hi lo. I did for the first one I had and it had crazy feedback. Buy a good one so u don't have any issues with an annoying sound. Plus the quality will be better in the sound.

Just one important question, which is the best way to splice into oem sub wires without damaging or possibly cutting those off? Or can we connect the hi lo rite into the positive negative terminals on the oem sub?

I looked through a few on sonicelectronix and if I was to buy it would be the stinger sgn12. They have a sgn13 where you can adjust the input. But you can do all that on the amp so buying sgn12 for less is a better deal. PAC is a good company too. I used their loc on my last car with no noise issues. Just make sure to have a god ground.
Google "t tapping" so you don't have to do any cutting. Walmart, ace, homedepot or RadioShack should have some.

This helps me a lot man.. Really appreciate it
I just looked at this video on YouTube after u told me about t-tapping, it's so easy to tap into oem speakers, I would of never knew about this until u told me bro. The SGN12 has excellent rating so ima get that. I will take on this project by myself with all the help from u. Thank u
**** one more question, several places selling t-tap connectors but it comes in different sizes. Do u know that gauge is the oem GS400 rear sub speaker wires?
