Default I need your input Fellas! Should I?

Alright so Xmas is coming and the wife keeps asking me what I want, of course I can't go crazy, but like $350..... So here's the deal I have stock navi, works fine, some waves in the screen occasionaly but nothing major, I NEVER use or need my navi, I never go anywhere to ever have to use it, so for $350 I pretty much cannot get an aftermarket navi that is nice, so my question is:

1: Get a nice name brand double din WITHOUT navi (anyone got a link to a nice one in my price range?) do u think that's wack to not have one with Navi? I got an iphone 5 if I need navi ill use that...

2: Leave my stock navi in there, it's fine......

3: save up for a nice navi unit or check the classifieds occasionaly....

4: get one off ebay from China with Navi (not feeling this really)

Buy quality. Buy once. Double din without navi is cool, as you said, most smart phone nav and map software is far superior to oem and aftermarket nav units because they get continuously updated. Nothing wrong with dd and no navi, but you might as well get the navi with the dd for just a few bucks more. Save up and get quality, you are not in a race so no need to get a cheap radio in a hurry...

just forget option 4. Those eBay units from china are junk. atleast the ones I encountered are, the touch features lack response compared to a quality brand. The overall appearance and display are poor. Im sure the list could go on...

If you dont use Nav and you have it on your phone Id get without. I actually have a little garmin one i use for trip that i mount up on the dash behind the inspection sticker which works better for so i dont have to keep looking down

My double din is i belive a pioneer avh-3200bt. 5.8 inch display. I got this one because I like the fact it has the actual volume control buttons and stuff on the side i never liked the touch screen volume controls. you can hook your phone through it and has handsfree talk. rear view mode, per most you can hook up your ipod to it, i use a SD card for my music/videos. add your own custom background. just overall a very nice DD HU. Also the price, you can find them under 300 all day. I actualy picked mine up on craigslist for 200.

I got the Pioneeer avh-8400bh from best buy when it was on sale. it was around 400 range. No navi but can be connected to a iPhone to run off that navi or buy the Pioneer u220 next christmas to have an add-on navi.

But dont buy a cheap China crap like LexXxtacy have said.

I got a Kenwood DNX-7160 off ebay from a reputable seller for $350. If you don't need all the BS functions newer headunits have you can get a similar model with bluetooth, garmin navi, etc for cheap on eBay because it's an older model.

Tell her your researching the best value unit. Have her buy you a gift card and apply your own money. Case closed...

I disagree with the ones from China are junk. My boy has two in both his custom bugs and in his Eclipse and the have been working fine for about 2 years.
If you would prefer name brand, I say go JVC with the detachable face. You can add the Nav part and bluetooth after you buy it. I have an older model, AVX810. Worth checking into the AVX840.

Stock navi..... Have you thought about the ac/heat functions? You will need a non-navi climate controller. Consider that into your cost if you haven't already.

That's why I think I'm keeping it stock now, I'm not paying $150+ on a climate control... Plus I believe the car is worth more with the stock navi...
