Default GS300 Vs Trashcan in the street, Trashcan won (Pics of damage)

This is my friend's GS300. She hit a trashcan in the street. It ripped off her Passenger Side rearview mirror. She also has an old dent from a previous accident. Anybody know how much a passenger side rearview mirror costs. Her's is a 2000 GS300 in MSM. She was quoted 700 bucks for the mirror installed.

Default Side Mirror

Try to find one on ebay. I had to replace a drivers side mirror on my 92 ES300. I was qouted 280.00 installed. I bought the mirror off ebay for 28.00(that included shipping) another 65 to get it painted and I installed it myself. So I saved myself over 180.00 dollars. See if you can find the part online first. A junkyard may be able to give you a better price than the 280 but nothing will beat EBay.

Yeah, $700. is way steep.... Now c'mon just one side mirror, she could get herself a pair of painted CLK mirrors modded to fit the GS and installed for that price... Don't do it, or you do all the foot work get it real cheap have it painted, then charge her $550. she'll think she's getting a deal....

Spend the $2 and call all the places on the list. You're bound to get a banging deal.

Sorry to see that. Is that Left Side or RIGHT side?

I'm with bit on this one. Unless the image was inverted before it was posted, that mirror would be referred to as the Right or Passenger side mirror.

Why would you want to replace it? I think you just came up with another DIY mod, the duct tape side mirror.

Gives new meaning to the term "trashy" don't you think?

The mirror itself is about $550 from the lexus dealer. Comes prepainted from the factory so they are charging you about 150 for installation.

I replaced my side mirror about 2 months ago. I did the installation myself which was not too bad, require you to remove the inside panel of the car for getting access to the screws and the wiring harnesses for the mirror. Should take you 1 hour max to do the work.

I bought my mirror at Lexus of Manhattan , which I do not recommend though. It was a very bad experience for me.
