2000 GS300 Transmission problem...upgrade?
Hey guys, my transmission happen to fail on me when I tuned my car, and I'm not making serious power.
I can't put it into park or reverse and would get stuck in gears. Check engine light would go on and I have a code for it something P1 ..forgot the code. After awhile the check engine light would disappear.
Transmission only have 107k miles and did the fluid change at 90k miles.
However, the guys at the shop did changed my transmission fluid to redline to see if that would help but it didn't.
I was thinking about using a TT Supra Auto transmission, but I don't know which route to go.
Anyone know a place that does upgraded transmission in Socal or have one for sale?

If you use manual shift mode (manually shifting) a lot (down shifting) that is hard on any trans, doesn't matter who makes it. The way the trans downshifts is usually pretty hard on the parts, I forget which bites it.
With std Toy T4 fluid, changing every 50k is good advice, if not every 30k. With synthetic fluids (real, not hydrocracked group 3's) you can go much longer.
