Introduction - just picked up my 98 GS4
Hey fellow enthusiasts!
I have been surfing this awesome forum even before I won the auction for this GS400. I never thought I would actually get one, but I did. And I am so glad. All the way from WI to WA. Owned by a couple in their 70's, this beauty was treated with care. She arrived by transport truck a few weeks ago and I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to register and say hello.
I have driven Lexus' before, but I have never owned one. I am definitely a car enthusiast though and thus far this amazing GS400 has not let me down.
Thanks to many of you I have already done a few little mods: exhaust and intake resonator delete (sounds amazing!), yellow fogs, clear markers, Plasti Dip hood protector (the previous owners ran a car bra on it and it damaged the paint) and black emblems.
The wheels are the next to go. And then I need to get to some maintenance items like the door actuator (thank you again for the awesome DIY on this forum!), timing belt, etc. I turn a pretty decent wrench so I look forward to giving back to this community if I am able. My other vehicle is a 96 supercharged 5-speed 4Runner, so who knows where the GS400 will go?
Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you. Take care, Christian
Picked her up for $6800. 108K miles.

I've actually got a ton of compliments on it from people that would normally slam me. I was surprised actually. Of course the best part is that I can just peel it off once I save up $750 to have the hood re-painted. Thanks for your opinion.

$750, ouch u need a new bodyshop.... the shop here who does all the work for Lexus of Memphis and all my work is only charging me $1,500 to remove bumper, both fenders, hood..... paint hood (topside/underside), fenders (topside/underside), fix damage to bumper, repaint bumper, repaint TTE lip..... reinstall and align (i know im getting it about half price since i have done tons of work through them but $750 to paint a hood is a ripoff)

My 16" tires were shot and about to grenade, so I picked up some 18" Boss 318's with tires for the same price as new tires. Definitely not my first choice, but it will do for now. I would prefer the staggered look in the future as the rear on these suckers is so dang wide.
Remember, I have had this thing for like 3 weeks so a little slack on the Plasti Dip would be appreciated. I like the Plasti Dip much more than missing paint, so I have no plans to get the hood painted. Anyway, here's the new look with the 18's. Need to drop this baby down a bit.
