Just got around 5 inches of snow in Dallas today. Two years ago, it was like 8-9 inches. I took my car out driving/drifting around on both occasions Know your limits is all I have to say lol! I was on high performance summer tires as well. A GS is definately drivable in the snow. It's also pretty easy to control if it does start sliding on you. It's not like some other cars that just whip around and spin you 180' degrees easily.

 

I totally disagree with this statement! I've owned more RWD than most people including MR2's, IS300 and my current GS3 and I've never been forced to abandon a vehicle in the snow. I too live in NY and the best advice I can give is to invest in a set of dedicated snow tires for all your winter duties. I've passed Subies, Evo's and anything AWD in the worst snow storms with full confidence.

 

Totally agree. Much greater pendulum effect in the sedans with longer wheelbase, plus the weight of the GS makes it very tame in a drift lol. I think a lot of folks here running excessive camber and stretched summer tires will obviously tell you to garage it lol.

 

Here in Iowa we got 14 inches of snow last week. My gs4 drove around perfectly fine. Have a nice set of winter tires around and its heavy enough to pull around. if anything its a last resort put a sand bag in the trunk little bit of extra weight helps always. No our cars aren't ment to be garaged unless you have it as a project car. To me its a DD so no choice but to drive in snow all winter long. I've owned too gs a 300 an 400 and both drive fine.

I saw all the Facebook posts from my D/FW friends and I'm so jealous. I flew up here to New Jersey for a family Christmas and we got NO snow at all. Last time we were up here we got 24" overnight on Christmas. BTW, Jeff - I'll be calling you about a week after I get back to get moving on that NA-T project I've been hounding you about for a month. Christmas plans ended up delaying me a week or so.

I've had my GS in the snow. It drives better on summer tires than some cars I've had on all-seasons. It's a very capable car in snow mode with VSC on. I'll agree with a previous poster that there will be times you'll want to switch VSC off. And, of course, if you find an empty parking lot you'll want to turn snow mode off, VSC off and stick it in "M"
