Default Air filter housing

My stock plastic air filter has a 3 inch diameter hole in it at the lower left side of it, don't know whare it came from. Should this be a concern? In the mean time i taped it up. Thanks in advance guys

which part of the plastic? a picture will be helpful to identify if this cause problem in your intake.

Sorry, its actually on the air filter housing lower left side(big black square box)
