I have done a lot of searching before posting. Mostly everything that comes up is about resetting the auto feature, meaning the windows actually work. Which is not the case as of today on my 2001 GS300. Went from all windows working perfectly from any and every switch to NOTHING.

This happened while driving, rolled down both front windows at the same time using the auto feature worked fine, then when it came time to roll them up nothing happened (in the same drive).

I also noticed that NO lights come on under the window switches for ANY door now.

I checked every fuse both under the pedals and under the hood and non are blown. Power locks work fine, didnt check sunroof.

I find it odd that no window switch works now, front back any.

Could this be a bad window master switch? or any ideas on how to fix this issue.



P.S. I did get my windows up by removing the front door panels then unplugging the motor and running 12V to it forcing them up. Also while doing this I checked for loose wires and such being I installed all new speakers and subs two months ago. thought I might not of plugged something all the way back in, but nope all connection was fine.

Check all wiring carefully and thoroughly. You might have a bad connection somewhere. It was not a GS but I had an FD RX-7 that had all dash lights go out on me. Turns out one of the wires in the fender was chewed up... it took me about a month to finally figure it out. If all fuses are fine and you can get things working by feeding 12v to it, it HAS TO BE a bad connection, IMO.

Thanks for the info.

However if it was a wiring issue you would think it would been flaky for at least a few days before completely dying. Also, I dont know why all the window switches would stop working. I feel like the issue would be somewhere on the drivers side front door cuz thats where the master switch is that overrides all the others.

This system may have a circuit breaker that may need to be reset.
If not i also think you might have a bad connection somewhere.

Body Electrical section in the FSM will have this info.

Was this issue ever solved?
I’m having the same issue rn.
I replaced all parts with new parts and windows only work(all windows and sunroof open and close)with the driver side door lock.

So we need to get more specific and use proper terminology here. You said the windows and roof operate with the drivers side door lock? We have a lot of stuff going on here with multiple ECU's and it would be very helpful.

We have several functions that are all tied together. Manual window down or up, Auto down or up, window operation linked with door key lock and unlock power window link with your key fob. It would be easier to show you a photo. Read through it and we'll see if we can work through this. Its split into two pages. Best I can do on such a complex problem.
