Unfortunately, I have about a year's wait before I get my GS430.. I'm saving as much cash as I can to keep my payments down. Plus, I just got an '01 Jetta to hold me over until then.. These Volkswagons are inexpensive and pretty nice.. Anyhow. I'm going to drive my Vette one last Spring/Summer/Fall and then see what I have in the bank. If I have enough, I'll keep the Vette and go for the GS. If not, I'll sell the Vette..

I personally don't think the STS are in the same league, unless all you're aiming for is performance... for everything else, I would pick a Lexus anytime! My dad's Caddy 1 - declared lemon... Caddy 2 - declared lemon - now he's driving a BMW 745i. Reliability is just awful, as well as their residual values and the overall feel of the car... subpar components for the money you're dishing out... totally not worth it! That's just my opinion though.

I think you got the wrong impression... we don't think Cadillac is BETTER, in fact most of us don't think Cadillac is in the same league as Lexus when it comes to build quality, customer service, reliability, performance, etc
The new STS and GS both came out in 1998, though no one paid the STS any attention. It does have a great interior but the exteriopr styling is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
The original STS was cool to me, I loved the styling, but I best friend at work has one, rattle box. Fit and finish of AMC Pacer.
The NEW STS was to resemble the CTS and that ANGRY KITCHEN APPLIANCE new Caddy's but Lutz said HELL NO. So we gotta wait for it.
