Door hinge make a "click" noise?
Hi,
Recently I noticed that when I completely open my drivers door there is a very noticeable "click" noise which appears to be coming from the black mount that attaches the black sliding rod which connects the door to the metal chassis. Has anyone else experienced this?

GSman,
I had this on my car before. It's actually a very easy fix. You can do it yourself, 5 minutes. Wiggle the black plastic off and you will see a pretty big torque screw. What's making the sound is just a loose torque screw. If you don't have a torque screwdriver, you can pick one up pretty cheap. Just need to tighten the screw, that's all. I recommend using a socket wrench with a torque bit on it to tighten it.

I just had the dealership fix this exact problem today. At least I know what to do in the future if the problem emerges again. Thanx for the info GSquicksilver.

glad to hear this helps. something like this should be easy to do instead of spending money at the dealership if your car is not under warranty. they would probably charge you an hour labor. this way, at least u know what has been done cuz you've done it yourself.

sorry to bump an old thread, but I wanted to also express thanks. This problem appeared a couple of weeks ago and I contemplated asking the dealer to fix it. Now I'm glad I didn't!

Wow, how ironic. I just started experiencing this problem last week. I went to the dealer and they sprayed some lubricant on the hinge where the black plastic thing is seated.
Can someone take a picture of the screw that needs to be tightened? I'm not sure what I need to remove in order to see the screw. Thanks in advance.
