yes i know the last post is over a year ago. any updates? love this build. and those rear wheels and tires are the greatest!!!
I like his interior. Man, I missed when this board had substance threads...every post had at least 2 pages of responses. Most of the OGs are either kicked off the site or have moved on to better things. I won’t ever sale my GS; I’ll keep it until it’s totaled.

I'm still around and not much has changed since the last update. I pulled the transmission out and had it refreshed and upgraded by C&C Motorsports, had the converter shipped back to FTI and they rebuilt it and converted to a twin disc lockup, added a Supra TT Torsen LSD with 3.76 gears and that's about it. We then tried to turn it up and having some weird issue that we can't even explain other than possible back pressure issue not allowing us to turn it up. Set boost to 35psi and it hit target at 5000rpm, held for 500rpm and then fell back down to wastegate. We pinned the wastegate shut with an air compressor and tried again and it did the exact same thing but instead of falling back to 20psi it held 24psi, swapped to a new gate, boost leak tested etc. Literally ran every test possible and everything is functioning as it should, simply won't let me run more than 20psi. I did attend a dyno day on the 7175 and on gate it made like 470rwhp if I recall and 420ft lbs.
I have the turbo kit currently removed from the car as I wanted to inspect everything but found no issues. My next move is to get a PHR S23 Twin gate tubular manifold and hope that eliminates my backpressure issue I assume that I'm having. We just purchased a new house, my wife is pregnant and I did buy a new toy when the car was down for the new trans/converter so putting a little damper on things lol. Plus there is a GS out of Oklahoma that has already broke into the 9's so I'm no longer really in a rush to break the GS300 record that is on here anymore. Car isn't going anywhere though just other things taking a little bit more priority.
nice. so are you trying to hit 35psi on a cast manifold and a big *** turbo?
Yea basically. It's been done before but on smaller PT turbos. Going to run me about $2500 to redo the entire turbo hot parts to fix this issue so yea....not sure the wife will let it slide right now with the baby on the way seeing as I just bought a turbo kit not even a year ago lol.
the turbo manifold im running is a cast manifold from spa in brazil. it also went by the name street fighter from the performance shops that bought it from spa than rebranded it. but drift motion and real street both confirmed that that manifold has made 1000 whp with the right size turbo. food for thought. heres a pic.

I'm actually a sales rep for Real Street :P. I have a .96 a'r exhaust housing on the way to try out and see if maybe that alleviates some backpressure first before forking out all the money for a 3rd turbo kit lol.
After 2 years and roughly 6 other various cars I found my way back into a Lexus. Previously had a 2001 IS300(in my sig) that was unfortunately taken from me by a careless drunk driver in 2010. I purchased this car from forum member ksoazn and couldn't be happier with the transaction. Very friendly guy and even had it all detailed up for my drive home . First thoughts are I really enjoy the GS300 more than I did the IS300, much more comfortable and the interior is much nicer IMO. Have always eyeballed the 98-05 GS's and am very glad I finally pulled the trigger on one.

OMG I want your car (but as a GS400).
Love everything you're doing with it
The car has been down since September last year. 6ish years and 70k miles of abuse and I lost compression on cylinder 6 having some fun in mexico. Decided to focus on some other things for a few months and start a new plan for the car. I went a bit overboard but you only live once
New Engine will consist of:
Brian Crower 272 VVTi cams
Brian Crower dual springs/ti Retainers
Brian Crower Locks
Ferrea Competition Plus std valves
JE Ultra Series Pistons
Brian Crower HD 625+ Honda Journal Rods
Real Street Offset ground OEM Crank - 90mm Stroke (3.2L)
Real Street Billet Mains
then all the ARP hardware to tie it all together and a bunch of other supporting bits but that is the jist of it.
I have also decided to upgrade from the ECU Master EMU Classic and have purchased a Motec M150 and will be running their GPR-AT firmware to control the engine and the A340 with. I'm also going to be updating my turbo kit with a new, yet to be released, manifold from Australia along with a PHR multi pump E85 fuel system on ID2000's. I'll be sure to update with pics as I begin the rebuild process!
I’m glad to see you still have this car. I didn’t realize you had a new username. Your build keeps getting better and better.
Yep still making moves with it lol. Yea I worked at MVP when I started the thread and since they were no longer a forum sponsor they banned my username. Now I work at Real Street so created a new generic one so I could keep updating it.

I’m glad to see you’re still around. I remember your old account from back in the day.
You have an impressive tire setup on your car. Did you have to do anything special to your rear fenders to make them fit?
