Miles per tank??
#16
Again, no body is answering my question, we keep going off on a tangent. So do you guys think the the fuel pressure regulator being bad has something to do with the fuel light coming on so quickly?
The check engine light only come on when I run the car with the fuel light on. Once filled with gas it goes away after a few miles.
Thanks

At first, it is 2 unrelated issues. They possibly maybe related, but maybe not.
1) you have a checkengine light and fuel regulator code
2) you have a low fuel capacity which is just signalled by a float in the tank.
You never reported if you confirmed if the issue is MPG or if it's fuel capacity.
I would change the fuel filter first. If you do this at the same time as when the light comes on, you can look into the fuel tank to see what's going on. Whether it;s really empty or not. and see if there's a couple gallons of fuel over on the passenger side that isn't leveling out. Also see if the float in the tank is working properly and not getting hooked.
Even if the fuel gets low, it shouldn't trigger a CEL, your car should just stutter and die.
If you have a lowfuel light, but there's plenty of fuel in there, It can be you have a clogged filter (smaller part), or the pump is dying (more $, but whole unit and easier to replace as you don't have to take apart to get to the filter).
If there is a lowfuel light, and all the fuel is over on the passenger side, you need to fix the jet return siphon (fuel pump).
If the fuel is correctly really low, then perhaps the regulator itself is bad as the code reports. You may also have some issues with the way you are pumping gas and not really filling the tank all the way if you're only stuffing 14gallons into an empty tank.
If you want someone else to solve this problem for you, go take it to a mechanic.

You gave me a few answers, and I thank you for that. However, you could've done it without the hostility.
I will check all the pointers previously mentioned and I will get back to you guys.
Thank you
