an LS 460 is slower than my 01 gs430. http://www.zeroto60times.com/Lexus-0-60-mph-Times.html
I want to get a newer faster car, not newer slower car that will cost and arm and a leg =)

If you're thinking American, how about a Pontiac G8 GT? So much aftermarket support for it, and pretty fast stock.
IS is too small IMO (more of a kids car) but it is fast. Chrysler 300s are dime a dozen. I do think they look nice with good wheels and a drop, My buddy has a dropped black one on 22" black 5 spoke Asantis with a chrome lip, looks extremely badass.
Good luck with your decision.

I have a gs430, and my brother has a is350.
Occasionally I drive his car. I will say his car is more fun to drive around, it definitely feels faster than the GS, probably due to the transmission and gearing. Plus the suspension is a LOT more tighter than the boaty GS. Plus gas mileage is great. Brakes compared to the GS is way better.
I like my GS, its more a cruising car and i've built it to where its at.
If I was in your position, I'd go with the is350. The only problem I see with the 350 is that its small and extremely common.

Why is the Cadillac CTS-V not a part of this discussion? A good condition 2006-ish model can be had for the same money as an IS350 and, if performance is your thing, the CTS-V has gobs more potential. They're nicer than the Chrysler...maybe not Lexus nice on the inside...but pretty dang nice. And that LS2 will respond quite nicely to cheap mods. Tremec 6-speed manual, Getrag limited-slip rear diff. It should be a consideration here.

You can't compare a Chrysler to a Lexus . The 300c to me has a poor ride and the looks is not my type of car . I know its got power if its srt8 but me personally I love the gs .

The Pontiace G8 GXP is even better, but since Pontiacs aren't made anymore. I don't think it's smart for an very un-mechanical guys like myself to buy a car from a company that doesn't even exist anymore if stuff goes wrong, i'm in trouble. I almost bought one before the GS430, but found that since it's FWD and a v8, the trans falls apart like crazy, even at as low as 30k, so I counted that one out after research
The G8 is RWD. Your confused the G8 with the Grand Prix.
