Default exhaust part differences...

Does anyone know if a 1998 gs300 center exhaust part is the same as 2002 gs300?

I need the center part (collector) with the rear cat. I just bought a OEM one off ebay and decided to check if the part # matched.

1998 GS300 part # is 17420-46380 PIPE ASSY, EXHAUST, CENTER

2002 GS300 part # is 17420-46520 PIPE ASSY, EXHAUST, CENTER

They look the same, but not sure..i think i am looking at the right part descriptions

Assuming I'm thinking of the same part you are, y-pipe sort of piece. I know on the V8's the 01+ have a 3rd cat while 98-00 have a resonator instead. I would assume they would bolt up the same, whether it'd have any other effect on the emissions system's functionality I do not know.

the one i got is for the non v8, it looks like a cat converter on this one. I have not pulled mine yet to check if its a cat converter or a resonator
