Need help ordering serp. belt tensioner
Hey guys, I'm new here and looking for a little help with ordering a serpentine belt tensioner on a '99 GS300. The nearest Lexus dealer is 2 hours away and my local shop is currently doing the timing belt / water pump and informed me that the serp. tensioner is going out (which I already assumed from the whining sound it's been making). Anyhow, they will only use Napa parts or OEM Toyota parts and I'm trying to find out who the OE manufacturer is for the tensioner and haven't had any luck thus far. I know the Napa one is made by gates ($160) but was hoping to use the factory one without paying $240 from Lexus. I have also considered just replacing the bearing, which they won't do, but it seems that tensioners can eventually lose their "tension" and cause the belt to fail prematurely. I currently have 147,000 mi. on it. Any help / suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the info! Overnight shipping is $65, ouch! Is there a contact # for them or is it e-mail only?

If u just replace the bearing your just actually servicing the pulley itself wich actually takes a beatting due to the tension the actual tensioner has a spring wich is resposible for the actual tension of the belt in my opinion I would replace both to ease the mind
