Hi Folks,
I am new to the forum. Man, has it been valuable. I purchased a 2004 GS300 for my dad and am doing the typical maintenance for a 150,000 mile vehicle. The trunk lid, on the drivers side, sticks out a tiny bit probably due to an accident. I have checked and found nothing for the horizontal adjustment of thie. (I need to move it forward) I tried the following:
1) In trunk, loosen the hinge from the lid. - No adjustment there without slotting the holes.
2) Remove back seat etc to get to the bolts on the inside. - I failed there because I couldn't extract the cover over the back end.
I looked at the bolts that secure the hinge to the body and they are double threaded (the main body one dimension then about 10mm a smaller diameter). I speculate this is a way to adjust. I assume I can double nut that and back off the bolt then adjust the hood then tighten again.
If someone has ideas on this, please advise.
Sincerely,
Frustrated
