Default Engine Cover

I did a search and didn't find the answer. I have a 98 GS300 and it doesn't have the plastic engine cover. Did the 98's come with one? My 2001 had one.

Thanks..

I was looking on eBay and found another 98 and it didn't have the engine cover either. I don't think it was included.

Well there's a very easy way to find out if it did or not. Just look to see if there are 4 large bolts sticking up out of the engine where the cover would go with nothing attached. This is an IS but you get the picture

although this isnt completely accurate it seems since alot of members with 2000 models said they had a cover

mine is a 2000 and it has a engine cover with the proper bolts sticking out of the engine. I guess I lucked out, I assumed they all did since mine was a earlier model.

That weird how they only included it on the 00+. Just because it was it 01+ which got a lot of changes like taillights, cluster bezel, grille, etc. etc.

from skimming those threads, i think it had to do with the launch of the IS
