Did ball joints, outer tie rods (because they were so rusted together I said **** it and just bought them), and Megan Racing 30mm RCAs on 100% stock suspension. Top is before, bottom is after. Can't see much but it's there. Only about an inch I suppose.

Added a diffuser I got off eBay. Used 2 screws on either side of the outside fins as well as 3M double sided tape. Probably going to add 2 more screws for good measure.

Thanks! Yep, just a universal one. I couldn't find the exact one, but there's a few on eBay. Most are about 33 inches long, which is the one I got, but just get down there and measure it so that you're positive it'll fit. Take note of the width as well because mine ended up touching the spare well underneath and there's no way to secure it there. I'm hoping the tape and screws will be enough.

Thumbs up 2001 GS300 - (2nd Gen) front end work

Today my 17 year-old son and I decided to replace the front drivers side wheel bearing, new spindle/wheel hub/axle, replaced radius arm (LCA #2) bushing with SuperPro polyurethane blue bushing, replaced caliper, replaced rotor with new gold zinc plated slotted and cross-drilled rotors, replaced upper control arm, added new Brembo brake pads. This was all on the drivers side front. Replaced chassis H/A brace underneath the engine/trans. Tomorrow, we'll be doing the passenger side. Car already handles FAR better than I can ever remember.

One thing to note is that this car has lived in Wisconsin its entire life and stored outdoors for all of it too. NO RUST anywhere underneath the car, except the cast iron suspension components, so while I had them off, I sandblasted them and repainted those components so they can continue to be preserved and function as designed.

This is the first time all of these components have been replaced on this car with 200K miles (just turned), minus the brake pads and rotors. It was WORK! Not easy work either, but the ride quality makes it all worth it, plus spending time turning wrenches with my son is the added bonus. ...and we did the work outside the garage in the rain. Literally. BALLZ still exist or so does complete stupidity. I like to think of it as a passion for these cars. I LOVE my Black GS. It's a car I'll never EVER sell. It's just too cool! I sold my 1987 Buick Grand National with T-tops, but I cannot bring myself to part with my GS 300 so I'm building it instead into something hopefully as RAD as all of your GS's.

Anyway, that's what I did today on my Lexus.

Cheers!

Eric

Not sure why you did that? Looks like you could have gotten another 100k miles out of it.
