Finally got around to doing the fog light mod, got some tints, window visors, rear RCAs, smoked clear corners, and threw some spacers on the front. Next I have to do the driver's side wheel bearing and both caster arms and the front end will be totally rebuilt aside from the uppers. Then coilovers! yay!
(Actually, 2 days ago, too tired to type, then....!)
Front & rear struts... miserable job, 215k+ miles, MI-car, lots of stiff/stuck/seized bolts. Also, bought bare-struts, and not quick-struts, so had the joy of swapping over springs/tops. Spent almost 8 straight hours, yet rides so much better now. Also feel good about the money saved, someone over on the Facebook GS400 group posted their Lexus estimate... ouch...! Validation of thoughts on why people don't maintain these cars as well as they should (if they don't work on them, themselves).
Front-struts were shot. Could move them in/out by hand, and they are storing in the down-position... left side leaked out all it's oil, they were both useless, and had Jeep-wiggle over potholes... to the point of being dangerous... dead weight, and just along for the ride. Rears weren't as bad, could still move them by hand, yet at least there was enough gas to have them store extended.
Will do rotors/pads over the next few weeks, front upper control arms soon, yet that timing belt kit isn't going to install itself... not looking forward to that one...
