I’m getting the rest of the 2004 GS300’s window tint finished and my radar detector hardwired tomorrow.
you should sell the gs3 and get a gs4. Why have two gs3 when you can have one of each ;-)

That’s a good idea and something I was thinking about. A friend of mine offered to sell me his black on black GS430 last week and I would have gone for it I had the space. If he’d mentioned this a week or two earlier I would’ve bought that car instead.

Is it just me or are GS400/GS430’s hard to find? I rarely see them pop up for sale, and if they do they’re in rough shape. I was also considering selling/trading it for an SC430, IS300, or a mint condition, black on black 97-98 ES300.

They only sold around 20% compared to the 300 so it’s more rare. Also hard to find one that wasn’t beat to **** or crashed.

I HIGHLY suggest you get the V8. The gas mileage is the same and it’s like a completely different car. So fun to drive.

The 1UZ is one of the best V8 engines ever made!

Over the past 15 years I've had the 99 GS3, 2001 GS430, 98 GS400 and 99 GS400(in that order). So I’d say I know a lot about the 2GS and it’s one of my favorite cars ever made. I’ve also owned a 2013 GS and 2017 RX F Sport and the ride quality is still better on the V8 from 1999! They just don’t make them like that anymore. I liked my GS4 more than those newer Lexus’ and ended up selling them and going back to a GS4! The V8 is the only car I have kept over 10 years and still have not gotten bored of! I got tired of the 2013 GS and 2017 RX real quick once the new car feeling wore off.

Hands down the GS400 is the best of the bunch in terms of performance and how it drives but the 430 is very nice too. Just more refined in how it drives, sort of like the LS. Throttle response isn’t as good as the GS400, but coming from a GS300 you will love it. I’ll never forget the feeling the first time I went from the 300 to the 430.

SC430 is nice too but to find one in good condition is expensive and a lot more $ then a GS4 from what I’m seeing

Yes, they were rare in production and they're even more rare on the resale market.

This explains why they are so hard to find! It makes me really regret not buying my friend's super clean black on black GS430 back in the day.

I was looking for black GS430 at the time of finding this second GS300. There was a really clean one for sale but it had the tan interior and a rebuilt title. Unfortunately it sold last week as I was thinking of selling my white 300 to buy it. the UZ is better on gas like you mentioned. I have the 3UZ in my LS430 and would love to have that or the 1UZ in a GS.

There is a cheap SC430 about 45 minutes away from me. I've seen a few clean ones around or just under $10,000. I've been leaning towards that or trying to find a clean black IS300. I'm supposed to be saving for a house so I don't have to keep all of these car's at my mom's house.

That explains why there are so few that pop up for sale around here. Most are in rough shape.

I’m hoping one of the local GS430 guys are willing to sell their cars. There’s a blue GS430 I see driving by my house and I love the color.

I finally got the Turtle Wax Graphene Spray Wax off of the black GS and used Mother's Cleaner Wax for a nice shine.

I washed both GS' yesterday and put gas in the white one.

SC430 with a CD swap would be so rad. Prices on them stayed pretty high, so the ~10k mark is pretty good value for an actually clean one. Pretty much everything you can do to a GS, you can do to an SC.

It's the Abflug front under diffuser.

Hey all, quick question:

has anyone encountered a chirping/squeaking sound coming from the trans of their gs2 300? Like in this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...sing-area.html

if so, how did you solve it ? I am quite sad to hear that sound and I am afraid of it getting toasted

That would be pretty sweet! I have noticed the SC430’s are still pricey. I came close to buying one before I bought my black GS300. That does make it easier since a lot of stuff works on both cars.

Ah! I don’t think I have seen the Abflug before. It looks good.

I got some gas in the 2001 GS300 and ran some errands in it. My daughter likes it better since I've had it since she was really young.

I got a second pair of Braga taillights in the mail from Dubai. It got delivered to the wrong house in my neighborhood but the neighbor drove it over to my house.

This set is brand new and I’ll take the plastic wrap off of them to inspect them. I also washed the black GS but then I got caught in a hail storm a few hours later. 😞
