car died...
I was waiting for an old lady to park, after waiting for 5grueling minutes I stepped on the gas, but lo and behold the car was off. So I quickly turned on or should I say tried to turn it on...nothing, the car was dead. I immediatley called my bro to help me move it, mind u, im stopping traffic. Embarrasing considering its a Lexus. After my moments of chagrin, the car started. I took it to the dealership, and asked them to check it out. I couldnt stay and watch b/c of work. But as u guys know very well, the so-called service report came out clean, infact "perfect"(thats considering they even check it). I don't believe they checked it, but what can i do, anyway, any1 here have that problem?
and the batt is new..

Lexus Test Driver
Did you have anything at all? Guages, lights? That happened to me once and the problem was one battery cable BOLT was a quarter of a turn lose. Once tightened, everything was fine. I was losing ALL POWER in the middle of traffic.. From running - to nothing... This wasn't in a Lexus but it sounds like that could have been your problem...

Strange that happened to me twice. once at 3am in the morning, i was stopped at a light in New York and when the light turned green, I gave a little gas and it choked and died. it started right up when I tried. so I took it to the dealer and got a new battery for free but then it happened again few months after, same exact way. I dont know if it is a bug in the cpu. any body know why it happens?

all the gauges came on, so thats why i dont believe it was the battery. As a matter of fact the radio was playing the whole time, so there goes the cable thing, which i wished was the case. 2nd, I tried the car right after i noticed it was off, remember i was stationary at the time. And in the 1st crank, nothing...than the 2nd(crunch) time, it started and drove normal. i hope it dosent happen again...

My car stalled during stop-and-go traffic. I was able to restart it, but I took it to the dealer to have it checked out. They couldn't find the problem from the computer output. Dealer said that if that ever happens again, DO NOT RESTART THE CAR. Call Lexus roadside assistance and have it towed to the dealer. The computer should have stored the immediate events prior to the car turning off - which the dealer should be able to capture. My car has never stalled again, so I can't comment if this would be helpful n finding the cause.

this happened to my GS4 also at 28k miles. i posted about it but everyone said i was the only one.
my situation was different, i just floored it a couple times and then finally came to a stop. at the light, i noticed the idle was fluctuating and it went pretty low sometimes. then when i gave it gas, the car turned off. fired back up and hasnt happened ever again since a year ago. i think it is just a O2 sensor getting wrong input at that one moment. nothing to worry about, unless it becomes repetitive.
