s430 timing belt time, question on bearing on idler
Wanted to post this up here as it seems like more people on this board have done their own work on the timing belts.
On the idler pulley sub assembly, see below. Can you just replace the bearing? Mine just has some noise, and I hate to pay for another entire part. The part is $300 at dealer, $125 aisen style oem. Bearing is likely $10, but hard to see if it will press out easy.
Also, just to confirm that the water pump gasket does not need any silicone on it.

This one unfortunately is NOT serviceable. You will not be able to press bearing out as this is internal bearing. I had to buy whole assembly for nearly $200!!! Replace it while you're at it now.

I concur
I would say you are correct. I had a puller on one side and tried to press it from the other side really gentle. likely 1 ton of pressure with no movement. Well, then it moved across the room.
Aisen part is OEM manufacturer, part FBT-011
Found it on amazon for $110.

$110 for new? If so go for it. Used... I wouldn't. Is yours squeaking?
