Probably easier to just disassemble the mirror and actually see what you're doing. Better than breaking something. Mirror has 3 screws to remove and 2 to disassemble. I'd go that route...

OP has a 1998-2000 model which are different internally then the 2001+ models, also OP be careful pushing this so you dont do this

difference in the internals, BLUE one is a 98-2000 model and BLACK one is a 2001+

My next question would be I am ordering a used complete mirror assembly off of a 2000 GS300 and the seller doesn't know if it's heated or not. Will the main, large plug still hook up to my Car if it's the non heated type? I believe I had the heated setup after looking over mine that I just broke.

yeah that sucks Rock, i was pissed also.....i had mine in and was like "Meh, i dont like that im gonna push it one more time" and then crack
all OEM mirrors are heated, you must be buying from some parts place.....
