It's time to change the front pads on my wife's GS. The pads aren't that worn, but it looks like they have been overheated. The pads are painted green, and they have a huge burn spot throughout the pad and they squeal whenever the brakes are applied. What brand brake pads do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance for the replies.

I will try to say this the nicest way possible per the sticky, but you gotta try searching.
There is also a whole subforum for brakes and suspension.
At a minimum search for the brake pad you like and read up on it before pulling the trigger.
Here is the reason why searching is better then posting.
A lot of these questions have been answered and discussed backwards and forwards.
The veteran members get tired of reposting the same info, so you only get replies from relative new members who are still enthusiastic about sharing their newly gained knowledge.
So you end up with replies mostly from noobs, and not from veterans who don't bother repeating themselves, especially when they get drowned out by enthusiastic noobs. So in the end, you may end up with worse advice.

I will take the time to write up my 2cents this time.
In this particular topic, I personally go with akebono pro act pads. search and you will find specific opinions.
I will also give you the advice to always replace the brake hardware (clips) when changing the pads.
I will not recommend the OEM Lexus/Toyota pads. They are nice and quiet, but by no means is a design from pre-1998 the best choice that you can make today.
If you look at a picture of them, you can see where about 40% of the surface area is chamfered away. You do not see this level of chamfering on other 3rd party brake pads. I believe this was a design error and compromise to provide better noise/vibration characteristics that they couldn't solve properly.
Here is an example of "pursuit of perfection" as of 1998. I think it will be hard to convince someone this is properly designed

I've been using Hawk HPS pads for several months and have been very happy with them. I have yet to need to make a full panic stop, but when making quick/hard stops... I find them to be more than adequate.
