Looking to upgrade my oem hid bulbs to the Morimoto 3Five (35w) D2R Bulbs. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Morimoto bulbs and what's you thoughts on them.

tiger4life - Did you have oem hids before your retrofitted fxr projectors?
Yeah I've being thinking about Phillips bulbs but like yourself I don't want pay the cost only to end up having fakes.

I've read [and seen on HIDplanet.com] that these are pretty good.
When you're spending 45$ for a pair vs. 210$+ for a set of Phillips, it's hard to beat.
Not to mentions TRS is a great company to deal with regarding questions/concerns/warranties. Just do your research on hiplanet.com...

One thing to consider is if the issue with your current set of bulbs is just wear/tear.
A new set of oem bulbs may also give you the same result; so you may attribute as an "upgrade" when it's really just replacing a worn part.
I recently replaced my HID bulbs with Philips (same as oem); The new bulbs produce more light again as compared to the old bulbs, which were still functioning fine.
Stats to give you a sense of usage: car is 98 with 100k miles.

Raytseng - I'm looking to upgrade/replace my oem bulbs due to their age (1999 with 90k miles). Their working fine just that they seem dull and not as bright as I feel they should be for HIDs. Plus I'm planning on using a headlight lens restoration kit as soon as the weather picks up here in the UK so I feel that while I've got the headlight removed from the car its would be the perfect time to replace the bulbs.

I have the Morimoto D2S bulbs in my M45 retrofit setup over a year now, no issues. The reach full brightness in seconds. I am using the Morimoto 3Five ballast as well. Got the from TheRetrofitSource, they are not far from me.
