Cold air coming from glove box
Howdy,
Living here in the frozen tundra of the USA, I have been driving around in some really cold conditions. When the temperature gets around zero degrees, you really notice air leaks in the car.
My 1998 GS400 allows the bitter cold air to enter the cabin via the glove box. The air only comes in when I have the recirculate switch OFF. When I open the glovebox while driving, the contents are frozen and air rushes by. I know this is where the a/c filter is replaced/stored.
Anyone else have this problem? Ideas what can be done?
Thanks.

Re: Cold air coming from glove box
you may need to check the seals around the air cartidge cover. it may be open somewhere. or the assembly doesn't have a good seal. the air goes up into the dash from there to the vents.trace and follow the vents and look

I had this same problem. My filter door kept poping off. The dealer had to replace the whole case behind the dash to fix the problem. Its the only problem I have ever had with a Lexus.
