Default Ventilation valve on passenger side valve cover

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2002 GS430 about a month ago and this site has been very helpful thus far.

I found this cracked hose while I was trying to find the source of a ticking and can't determine what the valve that it connects to is. Is it a secondary PCV? Does it need to be replaced with periodic maintenance? Sewell's parts catalog only shows the hose (12262 in the image) but doesn't label the valve. Any ideas? Here's a picture of the valve and hose:

Not sure if you can remove that valve. Just replace the hose.
